Michigan Nonprofit Association Announces Capacity Building Opportunities for Michigan Nonprofits

Michigan Nonprofit Association (MNA), in partnership with Nonprofit Alliance at Kellogg Community College and other Management Support Organizations throughout Michigan, is excited to announce the Recover Michigan program. This program is geared towards building the capacity of nonprofit organizations through American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funding.

Michigan Nonprofit Association (MNA), in partnership with Nonprofit Alliance at Kellogg Community College and other Management Support Organizations throughout Michigan, is excited to announce the Recover Michigan program. This program is geared towards building the capacity of nonprofit organizations through American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funding.

Incorporated nonprofits, whose budget do not exceed $500,000, and that assist low-income individuals to secure and retain employment, earn higher wages, or gain access to state and federal benefits, are welcome to apply.
Through this Program, community and faith-based nonprofit organizations will position themselves to strengthen their effectiveness to address the broad social and economic recovery issues present in their communities.
Organizations accepted into the Program will receive access to grant opportunities and no-fee training and consulting services in the areas of: program development, organizational development, leadership development, revenue development, evaluation, and community engagement.
Examples of eligible organizations include: Mentoring programs for all ages (such as Big Brothers Big Sisters, Boys & Girls clubs, after school programming, etc),   childcare facilities, organizations providing assistance in resume building, skill building, etc., organizations offering transportation assistance, prisoner reentry programs, organizations offering navigation assistance for Federal and State programs (MI Child Applications, WIC, Unemployment, Food Assistance, School Lunch Programs, Medicaid, Heating Support, Temporary Housing etc), tax relief organizations, financial education programs, literacy programs, assistance referral services, and job training sites.

Nonprofit Alliance will host a Recover Michigan orientation Thursday, September 23 from 10 a.m.-noon at 7100 Tower Road (Association of Realtors Conference Room) for those interested in learning more and participating in the program.
