Nonprofit Alliance announced the 2010 Nonprofit Business Award Finalists and Winners at the May 4 Battle Creek Chamber of Commerce Eye-opener Breakfast.

The Nonprofit Business Award was established to recognize the vital role nonprofits play in the community, as well as to stress the importance of sound, effective business practices in nonprofit organizations.

Each organization was evaluated on their 2009 business performance, management strategy, leadership and mission effectiveness. While these nominees are widely diverse in staff size, operating budget, governance, structure, clients served and mission, all are tremendously committed to achieving excellence and creating a positive quality of life for everyone in the community.
The four finalists announced were: Battle Creek Health System, Humane Society of Southcentral Michigan, Kingman Museum, and Woman's Co-op.
