&lt;div&gt;&lt;span&gt;In partnership with the Community Foundation Alliance of Calhoun County, Albion Community Foundation, Marshall Community Foundation, Athens Area Community Foundation, Homer Area Community Foundation, Michigan Nonprofit Association, Nonprofit Alliance would like to announce capacity building grant opportunities for nonprofits in Calhoun. Similar to the CBPF in Battle Creek, this pooled fund focuses on the rural areas of Calhoun County.&amp;nbsp;The next deadline is July 1.     <article>&lt;p&gt;Nonprofit Alliance will host Richner &amp;amp; Richner in a day-long fundraising workshop. This training, titled, &amp;ldquo;How to Ask for and Receive Major Gifts&amp;rdquo;, will focus on the key elements necessary for nonprofit organizations to be successful at major-gift fundraising.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;This highly interactive presentation will feature:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;
    &lt;li&gt;How to talk and write about your organization&amp;rsquo;s needs in a way that will inspire financial support (Creating and Using Your Case Statement).&lt;/li&gt;
    &lt;li&gt;How to uncover the likeliest sources for major gifts to your organization (Identifying Prospective Major Donors).&lt;/li&gt;
    &lt;li&gt;How to secure the solicitation meeting, and what to do in it (Asking for a Major Gift).&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
&lt;div&gt;Participants will leave the seminar with renewed enthusiasm and confidence and a road map to move their fundraising forward.&lt;/div&gt;

    <article>&lt;p&gt;Participating Organizations will receive the following capacity building opportunities at No-Fee: Training, consulting, and grant opportunities in the areas of program development, evaluation, leadership development, collaboration and community engagement, and organizational development.&lt;br /&gt;

Nonprofit Alliance will host an orientation session on Monday, November 2, 2009 from 10 am-12 noon at the Kellogg Community College, RMTC site, in Battle Creek. Additional orientation sessions will be held between October 26 and November 5.&lt;/p&gt;

The Michigan Nonprofit Association (MNA) and seven Management Support Organizations throughout the State of Michigan will implement Recover Michigan. During the eleven-month, three-phase program, community and faith-based nonprofit organizations will position themselves to strengthen their effectiveness to address the broad economic recovery issues present in their communities.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Recover Michigan is a capacity building opportunity to enhance the effectiveness of the federal stimulus package. Incorporated nonprofits (budgets &amp;lt; $500,000) specializing in assisting low-income individuals in employment endeavors are welcome to apply. Recover Michigan is a federally funded under the authority of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009.&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;strong&gt;Michigan Now!&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
MNA and partner MSOs will implement the third and final year of the Michigan Now! program along with Recover Michigan. Michigan NOW! is aimed towards strengthening the foundation of small nonprofit organizations (budgets &amp;lt; $500,000). Incorporated nonprofits specializing in the following areas are welcome to apply: the homeless, at-risk youth, prisoners re-entering communities, families transitioning from welfare to work, seniors in need, couples in need of marriage counseling, children of prisoners, and those in need of intense rehabilitation. Michigan Now! is a program of the United States Compassion Capital Fund. &lt;br /&gt;
Participating Organizations will receive the following:&lt;/p&gt;
