Show Me the $$$ Day 2012

Saturday, January 28 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Battle Creek Family YMCA will be "Show me the Money" Day 2012 featuring free tax preparation (income < $50,000), free financial workshops and more.

Representative Kate Segal will provide opening remarks and area organizations will be offering table presentations.   Food and prizes for all attendees. Day care for infants-12 years provided. OMNI Community Credit Union Announces $50,000 Grant Program for Southwest Michigan

OMNI Community Credit Union has announced it will be distributing $50,000 throughout 2012 through its “OMNI Gives Back” Grant program. Small Nonprofits Get Relief from IRS

The IRS recognizes that many small organizations that have lost their tax-exempt status because they failed to file a Form 990-N e-Postcard for their 2007, 2008, and 2009 taxable years were never required to file an annual return or notice prior to their 2007 taxable year. Contact the Nonprofit Alliance to check the status of your organization or request assistance for the relief from the IRS.

  The IRS  recognizes that many small organizations are operated by volunteers and may face unique challenges in meeting federal tax obligations. Accordingly, the IRS will treat a small organization (one that normally has annual gross receipts of not more than $50,000 in its most recently completed taxable year) as having established reasonable cause for failing to file a Form 990-N e-Postcard or an annual return for its taxable years beginning in 2007, 2008, and 2009 if it meets e...
